What is a semi-finished product?
A semi-finished product is a food product in the Assortment that you can use as an ingredient in another product. This can be useful when you make an ingredient, such as green pesto, yourself in batches and use it in several dishes, for example for a chicken pesto sandwich or a pasta salad.
How do you create a semi-finished product?
In the assortment , click on + add product, and then select Food as the type.
Give the product a name, for example green pesto, and tick 'This product is a semi-finished product' under Link to production list.
Below, enter the unit of measurement and unit per product. If you make the green pesto per 100 grams, that is what you enter here.
Save the changes.
Linking ingredients to a semi-finished product
Next, add the ingredients from your Purchase list for 100 grams of green pesto:

Using a semi-finished product as an ingredient
You can now use the semi-finished product "Green Pesto" as an ingredient in, for example, the pasta salad. Search for "green pesto" under link ingredients and calculate purchase, and add it to the ingredient list:

The ingredients linked to the semi-finished product can be found on the purchasing list.
You can find how to make the semi-finished product and the quantities of ingredients you need for this on the recipe list.
By ticking the box 'Show semi-finished products separately' , you can also display semi-finished products on the production list.
