How to create and edit a quote template

A quote template offers a wide range of possibilities. In this article, you can find the most common features and learn how they work.

Creating a quote template

Follow these steps to create a new quote template:

  1. Go to the settings via the cog icon at the bottom left.

  2. In the menu, click on "Quote, email and branding".

  3. Open "Manage quote templates".

  4. Click on the green "+ New quote template" button.

You have now created a template.


Add a background

A background instantly gives your quote a certain look and feel.

Here’s how to add a background:

  1. Open the template.

  2. Click on the image icon in the top right-hand corner of the page.

  3. Choose the type of background you want to use.

You have two options:

  • Solid colour
    By default, the background is white, but you can change this colour. The chosen colour will be applied to all pages.

  • Background image
    You can upload a background you’ve designed yourself (for example, using Canva or Photoshop).

💡 Tip: Add text directly via Catermonkey. This will remain the sharpest. Text in a background image may become blurred.


Add content

Do you want to add text, an image, a planning block or a price overview? First, add a row with columns.

  1. Open the quote template.

  2. Move your mouse over the page until you see a blue line with a plus sign (+).

  3. Click on the plus sign.

  4. Choose 1, 2 or 3 columns side by side.

Within a column, you can choose from the following options:

Add text box

Click on the text icon to add a text box.
You can also use variables here (smart fields that automatically retrieve information from a task). See this article for more information about quote variables.

Add image

Easily add an image by uploading it or selecting it from your media library. You can adjust the size of the image by making the column wider or narrower with your mouse.

Add price summary

The price summary is automatically populated with the products from the order. This ensures it always matches the quote for the customer.

⚠️ Please note: Do you want to edit the price overview? Always do this from the order, not in the quote editor.

Add event planning

The event schedule from the order is automatically added to the quote.

⚠️ Please note: Always make changes to the schedule in the order, not in the quote editor.


Useful tips

1. Duplicate page
Use the duplicate icon at the top right of a page to quickly copy a page. Handy if you only want to make minor adjustments.

2. View preview
Click on "Download sample quote" in the top left corner to see what the completed quote looks like in PDF format.

3. Adjust settings

Click on "Tools" in the top left corner to, amongst other things:
